The Move-Out Clean That Actually Gets Your Deposit Back

Deposit disputes rarely come down to whether a place looked clean. They come down to specific line items on an inspection sheet, and almost all of those items live inside things: inside the oven, inside the fridge, inside cabinets and drawers, inside closets.

Start by getting the actual checklist. Most Central Florida landlords and property managers will send one if you ask, and cleaning directly against it removes the guesswork. If nobody will send one, assume the standard list: appliances inside and out, cabinets and drawers emptied and wiped, bathrooms fully sanitized including grout, baseboards, blinds, light fixtures, window tracks, and floors.

Clean in inspection order, which is roughly the order someone walks a unit: kitchen first, because it takes the longest and gets the most scrutiny. Oven, refrigerator, dishwasher gasket, under and behind anything that pulls out. Then bathrooms, where grout and fixtures matter more than the mirror.

Blinds, baseboards, and door tracks are the three items most commonly missed and most commonly charged for. They are also fast if you do them before the floors rather than after.

Floors go last, in one pass, on the way out the door. Then take photos. If you are handling the move from another city, photos at handover are the cheapest insurance there is.
